A Girl's Guide To Holiday Attire

For most people, the holidays are about two things - friends and family. For me, the holidays are about three things - friends, family, and fashion. Who doesn’t love an opportunity to dress up something other than a tree during December? It’s fun an all to play dress up without a destination, but it’s even more fun to dress up for the holidays. I want to share with you a few pieces of clothing that work perfectly for the holidays.

For Family Gatherings…

With your family is where you should feel the most comfortable, therefore this can go two ways. You can dress up and release your inner fashionista, or you can show up comfy and cozy. Either way works! If you want to dress up, Lulu’s Bell Sleeve Dress is perfect for that. Pair it with some strappy heels and you’ll be good to go. If you prefer something slightly dressy, but still cozy, then a sweater dress is the perfect no-fail piece. Ooh La Luxe carries the Emma Sweater Dress in four colors, but I would recommend Ivory for the holidays. Having a simple color to begin with allows you to throw on a cute pair of shoes. Lastly, if it’s immediate family, throw on some jammies! I absolutely love myself a good pair of holiday pajamas.

Office Holiday Party

Just because you’re in a professional environment, doesn’t mean you can’t look good. It would be smart to steer clear of anything revealing, but a chic/modest dress or nice pant would work perfect. Again, Lulu’s has the perfect dress. Their Dulset Washed Black Surplice Midi Dress is a modest length that won’t make you feel like you walked off the set of Little House on the Prairie.

Best Friend White Elephant Party

Much like family, your best friends are those whom you should feel comfortable around. If you’re doing a gift exchange, set the dress code. If you all want to take some cute pictures to save a cherish, you can dress up. If it’s more relaxed, feel free to even get matching pajama bottoms - this also is a great photo-op.

New Years Eve

Aside from Christmas Day, New Years Eve is one of my favorite times to celebrate, and it is the perfect excuse to wear sparkles. Starlow is an adorable online boutique with some of the best NYE clothing options right now. My favorite piece from the holiday collection is the Donna Sequin Mini Skirt. Coming in second is the Sequins Bell Bottom Pants. If you’re looking for a full body outfit, than a dress - again - is the way to go. One last time, I promise… Lulu’s has pretty much everything you need in dresses, from Bridesmaids dresses to holiday cocktail dresses. Their Rose Gold Sequin Dress is the perfect glitter covered piece you didn’t know you needed. If you prefer the shimmer of something metallic rather than glittery, then this Satin Mini Dress is calling your name - and mine too.

I hope these pieces helped you either find the perfect outfit for the Holidays, or gave you all good ideas for some.

Happy Shopping! & Happy Holidays!
